Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common gastrointestinal (GI) condition, causing symptoms including abdominal pain, bloating, and constipation and/or diarrhoea. Probiotics have been extensively studied in people with IBS, and have been found to be effective in reducing symptoms and improving quality of life (1). Biome IBS™ Probiotic combines two of the most effective probiotic strains studied in people with IBS: Lactobacillus plantarum 299v and Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG. The benefit of these two probiotic strains has been proven through a number of randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials in both children and adults (2-7).
